I can really appreciate this.  I am avoiding the new IT core skills as long as possible for this very reason, but colleagues have started on the communications ones.   Seems as though we have taken a step back to, as you say, multiple colleges inventing assessment tasks for the same purposes.  Maybe we don't have to create structured formal assessments, but it's hard to moderate as well as standardise the level across the college if we don't. 

Couldn't we share these?  The SQA like to stay out of this kind of thing, presumably to avoid being seen to recommend one assessment or another.  Sorry I don't have anything yet to share as I haven't started yet, but when I have, you'll all be welcome to them!

We are teaching this to other curricular areas and are trying to contextualise material for learners. Can anyone give me infomration on how their College is approaching this. Has anyone devised a learning plan to at least have some structure for the 4 tasks for level 5. It seems to me there will be Colleges all over Scotland re creating the wheel!
