Does anyone know of dates when further ASPs will be available? I am looking to run with a 2 year program starting this August, and so far I only have two ASPs for my first year.

Barriers to teaching cool stuff

Hello, At the moment I can see two potential barriers to teaching cool stuff like Digital Media. The first is schools not being happy with the module only option. Although there's an NC to work towards, there are no exams, so no 'courses' so no school statistics. I am quietly hopeful that I can argue the case with this.

ASP/D Outcome One Questions

Some points regarding the MCQ's in the ASP: Version A: Q2 audio formats on WWW – both WAV and MP3 are widely used. Wording of question infers a single response. Q7 Compression applied to WAV files – This is misleading. Compression, as an effect, is "applied" to audio files in order to boost lower level signals and clip higher level signals by use of controllable threshholds and levels.

QUERY F1KS 11 - Digital Media Elements for Applications

This unit requires the following: "Use appropriate software tools to create a short video clip of approximately 30 seconds including a midi sound file, a 2d animation, a bitmap and a vector graphic" Does anyone know of any video editing software that can import midi files? Neither Windows Movie Maker nor Adobe Premiere will actually import midi files, and off-hand I don't know of any other video editing tools that support MIDI.

Digital media Elements for Applications - Am i the only one who thinks this ?

I'm delivering the unit – Digital Media Elements for Applications. As you may or may not, the students are required to "aquire" a 30–60 second video AND audio track using a "device". It states using mobile phones as one option, but most mobile phones video use 3gp as a file format which doesn't import into Movie Maker or Premiere… (without codecs or converting it to something else first).

ASPs vs NABs

Could anyone advise me what the difference is between ASPs and NABs? They appear to be the same thing but surely it isn't just a naming exercise.
